Map of the 34 province-level administrative divisions of China according to the People’s Republic of China

TL; DR: I created the map below because, as part of my studies on Simplified Chinese, I have been lately interested in the political subdivisions of China according to the People’s Republic of China.

I’m sharing the map because I believe it can be useful for Chinese students, since they can read the pinyin of any province name on the right bar. The lists on the right are sorted numerically which makes it convenient to find any number from the map.

To create the map, I first needed to have a list of all the provinces of China. I didn’t find such information on my own using search engines, so I created a question on Politics Stack Exchange.

I obtained the silhouette of the map from this Github repository. I used Inkscape to modify the colors of the map and to insert the colored rectangles and the text. The PNG image shown below was exported from the SVG file with 100 DPI (dots per inch). To ensure a higher quality, you might want to export from the SVG to PNG using 300 DPI. The SVG file can be downloaded in the button below. Feel free to modify it as you wish.
